Devem ainda ser contemplados outros obstáculos que estão presentes no dia-a-dia e que muitas vezes começam no início do trajecto: ao sair de casa, os passeios são maioritariamente ocupados pelos carros, senão esburacados ou desnivelados, dificultando bastante a locomoção delas sobretudo quando devem conduzir as crianças a pé ou o carrinho do bebé, facilitando a ocorrência de acidentes.
A iluminação pública é também um factor que dificulta a mobilidade, contribuindo para o aumento do número de casos de violências contra as mulheres, pois a maior parte das ruas fora do centro da cidade são estreitas e sem iluminação.
O sistema de transporte colectivo na cidade de Maputo tem vindo a ser alvo de intervenções de melhoria mas ainda apresenta algumas deficiências que se traduzem na insegurança nas viagens das passageiras nomeadamente por casos de assédio sexual ou outro tipo de violências.
Tentamos responder ao desafio de consciencializar todos os passageiros e passageiras, profissionais da área e demais cidadãos e cidadãs sobre o direito equitativo à cidade e à mobilidade urbana.
Other obstacles that are present every day and take place at the very beginning of women’s trajectory should also be considered: upon leaving the home, the sidewalks are mostly occupied by cars or are full of holes or aren’t leveled, making women’s movements difficult, in particular when they accompany children by foot or on strollers, making them prone to accidents.
Street lighting is also a factor that obstructs mobility, contributing to the growing number of cases of violence against women since the majority of streets outside city centers are narrow and have little lighting.
The public transport system in Maputo has been the target of improvement interventions but is still facing some deficiencies that translate into insecurity in the travels of female passengers, namely because of sexual assault cases or other types of violence.
We tried to respond to the challenge of making passengers, male and female, industry professional and citizens at large aware about their equitable right to the city and urban mobility.
Aina Nangy é arquitecta e urbanista formada pela Faculdade de Arquitectura da UEM e trabalha actualmente na ONG Arquitectura Sem Fronteiras (Maputo) no projecto de Mobilidade e Transporte Colectivo, que tem como objectivo específico contribuir para a melhoria do modelo de mobilidade tornando-o um modelo equitativo, inclusivo, seguro e sustentável, centrado no espaço público e transporte colectivo, na área metropolitana de Maputo.
A temática da mobilidade na área metropolitana de Maputo interessa-lhe muito tendo participado voluntariamente em actividades relacionadas como contributo para a melhoria do mesmo.
Aina é também mapeadora do #MapeandoMeuBairro, que é uma iniciativa comunitária que visa enriquecer a informação geoespacial sobre os assentamentos informais, mobilidade e transportes no território moçambicano, com recurso a softwares opensource e com participação activa da comunidade.
Aina Nangy is an architect and urbanist by the Architecture Faculty of UEM and currently works at Architects Without Borders (Maputo) on a project about Mobility and Public Transportation which has a specific objective to contribute to the betterment of the mobility model turning it into an equitable, inclusive, safe and sustainable model centered around public space and public transport in the Maputo metropolitan area.
The theme of mobility in the Maputo metropolitan area interests her greatly, having previously taken part in related volunteer activities to contribute to its betterment.
Aina is also a mapper for #MapeandoMeuBairro, which is a volunteer community activity that aims to enrich geospatial information about informal settlements, mobility and transport in Mozambique using open-source software and an active community participation.

SOBRE O MAPUTO FAST FORWARD
MFF was launched in 2016 as an open platform engaged in promoting creativity and innovation. Its main objective is to help Mozambican creators and innovators across all fields of activity (arts, culture, design, architecture, technology, etc.) to develop and present their projects, engage in fruitful trans-disciplinary debates and develop collaborations in order to establish an ecosystem that will allow them to expand their creative skills and to participate, through the exploration of networking opportunities, in the “global conversation” that is taking place within the “creative industries” sector.
