Pedro Pereira Lopes nasceu na província da Zambézia, Moçambique, em 1987. Estudou Políticas Públicas na Escola de Governação da Universidade de Pequim.
Escreve poesia, contos, relatos de viagens, ensaios e publicou um romance. Publicou os livros infanto-juvenis O homem dos 7 cabelos (2012, Prémio Lusofonia 2010), Kanova e o segredo da caveira (2013), Viagem pelo mundo num grão de pólen e outros poemas (2014), A história do João Gala-Gala (2017, em com autoria com o músico Chico António) e O comboio que andava de chinelos (2019, Prémio Maria Odete de Jesus 2016). Publicou ainda a colectânea de contos o mundo que iremos gaguejar de cor (2017) e o romance mundo grave (2018, Prémio Literário INCM/Eugénio Lisboa 2017).
Em 2019, em São Paulo, foi-lhe atribuído o “African Writer Excellence Award”, pela sua produção literária e contribuição na divulgação do pensamento africano.
Para o escritor e crítico António Cabrita, “Pedro Pereira Lopes é uma das vozes mais interessantes do novo panorama das letras em Moçambique” e “será iniludivelmente uma das figuras cimeiras da nova geração”.
Pedro Pereira Lopes was born in Mozambique, in the Zambézia province, in 1987. He studied Public Policies at the School of Governance at the Beijing University in China.
He is an author who has published in recent years poetry books, short stories, travel articles, essays and a romance. He has published children’s books – O homem dos 7 cabelos (2012, Lusofonia Award 2010), Kanova e o segredo da caveira (2013), Viagem pelo mundo num grão de pólen e outros poemas (2014), A história do João Gala-Gala (2017, in partnership with mozambican musician Chico António) and O comboio que andava de chinelos (2019, Maria Odete de Jesus Award 2016). Other books include the short stories “o mundo que iremos gaguejar de cor” (2017) and the romance Mundo Grave (INCM/Eugénio Lisboa Literary Award 2017).
In 2019, in São Paulo, Brazil, he was awarded the “African Writer Excellence Award”, for his literary work and his contribution to the promotion of african thought.
For the author and critic António Cabrita, “Pedro Pereira Lopes is one of the most interesting voices in the literary scene in Mozambique” and “will certainly be one of the leading figures of the new generation”.

SOBRE O MAPUTO FAST FORWARD
MFF was launched in 2016 as an open platform engaged in promoting creativity and innovation. Its main objective is to help Mozambican creators and innovators across all fields of activity (arts, culture, design, architecture, technology, etc.) to develop and present their projects, engage in fruitful trans-disciplinary debates and develop collaborations in order to establish an ecosystem that will allow them to expand their creative skills and to participate, through the exploration of networking opportunities, in the “global conversation” that is taking place within the “creative industries” sector.
