We create artefacts mirroring society, our needs, our reactions to the social environment – resulting from our behaviours and the relationships we build on a daily basis. BARS (GRADES) is a piece of graphic work that aims to reinterpret the bar railings of buildings in Maputo as objects that make up its material culture, artefacts that participate in our collective memory, transitioning and alternating between accumulated functions and meanings. With BARS (GRADES), Lourino Zandamela explores formats and modular forms and makes tangible an almost invisible coexistence, typical of our urban environment.

MFF was launched in 2016 as an open platform engaged in promoting creativity and innovation. Its main objective is to help Mozambican creators and innovators across all fields of activity (arts, culture, design, architecture, technology, etc.) to develop and present their projects, engage in fruitful trans-disciplinary debates and develop collaborations in order to establish an ecosystem that will allow them to expand their creative skills and to participate, through the exploration of networking opportunities, in the “global conversation” that is taking place within the “creative industries” sector.
